Cutin Synthesis & Transport 1
Legend: This biosynthetic scheme represents one possible scenario for the synthesis of cutin building blocks (possibly acylglycerols and free fatty acids) and their assembly. It is assumed that the sequential order of reaction on acyl chains is activation to Coenzyme A by LACS, oxidation by P450s and esterification to glycerol-3-phosphate by GPATs.
Abbreviations: EH, epoxide hydrolase; G3P, glycerol-3-phosphate; GPAT, glycerol 3-phosphate acyltransferase; FAH, Fatty acyl ω-hydroxylase; FAIH, Fatty acyl in-chain hydroxylase; HFAE, ω-hydroxy fatty acyl epoxygenase; HFADH, ω-hydroxy fatty acyl dehydrogenase; LACS, long chain acyl-coA synthetase; LTP, lipid transfer proteins; OFADH, ?-oxo fatty acyl dehydrogenase; PS, polyester synthase.
